Our Heritage, Values & Views
Over 75 years ago, Seminole Feed established its position as a trusted
company with a stellar reputation. To this day, we work hard to maintain
that respect and honor.
Building
on a Proud Heritage
It’s hard to come by third-generation, family-owned companies these
days. Corporate mergers and buy-outs seem to be the norm, and we’ve
grown accustomed to dealing with faceless, out-of-touch decision makers
in big city offices.
Not so at Seminole Feed.
At Seminole, we’re still family owned. We still focus on horses.
We still value our personal touch and dedication to customer service. And
we continue to honor our heritage today as we provide products, expertise,
industry support and education for the exciting equine and agricultural
markets in the Southeast. The 50,000 horses that thrive on Seminole Feed
daily are a tribute to this company.
Please join us as we celebrate 75 years of quality research, service and
support of the horse industry and agriculture.
Seminole Experts Share Vast Equine Experience
Seminole realized that our expert nutritionists and production staff have a wealth of knowledge about all things equine. To share, we launched a major publishing venture by creating,
printing and distributing Equus Caballus - EC Magazine - dedicated to the wellbeing of the modern equine. This high quality quarterly publication was provided free to customers and horse enthusiasts wherever Seminole Feed was available.
Now, we've taken EC to the next level with our monthly online journal. Filled with cutting-edge health and nutrition information for
the modern horse, premier interviews showcasing some of the most prominent
Seminole Feed customers, research updates from the world’s most respected
scientists and step-by-step articles teaching horsemen and women how to maintain
the health of their horses.

Seminole is one of the few companies in America today that requires fixed
formulation in its premium horse feeds. This diligent control over the manufacturing
process, combined with Seminole’s finest-quality ingredients and
superior horse feed recipes, ensures that customers are rewarded with the
highest quality, most carefully formulated equine nutrition products available.
Our feeds are milled in the all-natural, non-medicated Seminole Feed mill
in downtown Ocala, right in the middle of the Horse Capital of the World.
Seminole’s equine nutrition product line includes
its 30 signature premium and super premium horse feeds, in addition to eight
horse feeds manufactured especially for Spillers UK, the oldest and largest horse
feed company in Europe. These Seminole and Spillers/Seminole products are distributed
to customers via 140 select Seminole Feed dealers around the Southeast and to
several major exports.
In addition, Seminole sells a variety of forage products, such
as alfalfa, timothy, timothy/alfalfa, orchard/alfalfa, forage cubes and pellets,
bagged forage products and more. Seminole also owns and manages three Seminole stores in Marion
County, Florida, where we provide a huge selection of outstanding equine care
products for anyone who owns or is interested in horses.
At Seminole, our mission is to provide the very best quality, service and
value to our customers and their horses. To ensure non-biased research
data for our products, we call on Dr. Ed Ott, past president of the National
Research Council’s Equine Nutrition Symposium. Dr. Ott, recognized
worldwide for his studies and understanding of equine nutrition, is a University
of Florida professor and a lifelong horseman. Seminole Feed consults Dr.
Ott regularly.
Our consulting veterinarian, Dr. Toots Banner, is also available to assist with any health-related equine issues or questions. Dr. Banner specializes in equine dentistry and often travels with our Seminole nutritionist, Larry Mack, to provide customers with free equine nutrition clinics throughout our region. Larry Mack is also available every work day to answer nutrition questions for customers, thanks to our toll-free nutrition helpline.
With 75 years of experience, our reputation is on the line to continually provide the World’s Best Equine Feed and the service to go along with it.
Seminole Feed was the official horse feed of the 1996 Olympics and the
official horse feed of the 2003 Pan American Games. Our customers
include Olympic gold medalists, world champions in every event and breed,
international competitors, and Triple Crown winners.
